SEVEN DAY CANDLE – ETERNAL LIGHT

We are looking for people to sponsor this candle in the Holdsworth Chapel in memory of a loved one at a price of £3 for one week. If you are interested in doing this please speak to Gillian (355436) or click here to email.

CAR PARKING OUTSIDE CHURCH

Anybody parking outside the main gates must have a disabled badge clearly visible.

Please note: When parking in front of the gates please leave the centre part clear for the Emergency Services to gain access to the church if necessary. Thank you.

FOOD PARCELS

We are very grateful to everyone who brings some item to make up a food parcel.

We are in need of food in ring-pull tins, pot noodles and so on to replenish the cupboard again. Thank you for your support.

We are also supporting the Food Drop-in Centre at the Ebenezer Church. Please see the notice at the back of church for more details.

HEALING SERVICES

These services will take place at 6.30pm regularly throughout the year – often once a month. Please check the noticesheet for further information. Anyone is welcome to attend.

ORGAN RECITALS

The 2009 series of Organ Recitals take place every Thursday (unless there are alterations). They start at 12.45pm and last approximately 45 minutes. Refreshments will be served from 12.25pm. Please see the leaflets at the back of church.

SERVERS

We are looking for more people to join the Serving Team. If you are interested or would like more information please speak with Sheila Stoppard or Joyce Galloway.

WEBSITE CHANGES

The Media Vision Group is starting to redesign the website. We would like to get as many people as possible involved. If you have any technical or design knowledge or you are just interested in getting involved with this project please contact Peter Curbishley or Tracy Lee through the Church Office or the website.

FORTHCOMING EVENTS

FAMILY & YOUTH CHURCH WEEKEND

We are organising a Family & Youth Weekend to Sneaton Castle, Whitby, from Friday 9th – Sunday 11th October. A provisional booking has been made. If you would like further information please speak to Sue Binns and if you are interested please sign the list at the back of church. This weekend would suit families of all ages including grandparents and grandchildren.

HYMN WRITING COMPETITION

We are holding a Hymn Writing Competition over the summer and the winners will be awarded prizes from The Horatio Lumb Trust, who are the sponsors. For all the details please pick up a leaflet at the back of church. The closing date for entries will be 15th August.


VISION SUNDAY – SUNDAY 12th JULY

We shall be having a special service on Sunday 12th July at 10.30am to follow up on the last 12 months since Vision Weekend in 2008 and we will share with the church community some of the work covered at the Leadership Team Weekend. There will be lunch served afterwards.


FAIRTRADE CAFÉ/STREET ANGELS

An appeal is going out to all churches and voluntary organisations across the Town for more volunteers to help with the Fairtrade Café. The main need is for a volunteer cook. Please see the leaflets at the back of church or telephone Simon Endeacott 07825 795150.

LADIES GROUP SUMMER DINNER

Our Summer Dinner is arranged for Wednesday 5th August at 7.30pm prompt at The Windmill Court, Keighley Road, Ogden. This invitation is open to all ladies and their partners/spouses. Menus are available at the back of church with the list to sign. All money and menu choices to Janet Raper by 22nd July.


LADIES GROUP

On Wednesday 8th July 7.30pm come and meet Betty Pedley, at the Muirs' house at 8 Whitley Drive, and hear about a project to help young families in Holmewood, Bradford. Please telephone Dorothy if you plan to come. Dorothy can give directions.

MOTHERS UNION ‘FUN IN THE FIELD’

This event is on Saturday 11th July from 1.00pm to 5.00pm and takes place at the Community of the Resurrection cricket field, Battyeford, Mirfield. It is for all the family and everyone is welcome. Pick up a leaflet.


MOTHERS UNION COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS PROJECT

If you have any money for this project please hand it to Ann Coldwell as soon as possible.


ADAM & FRIENDS IN CONCERT – SATURDAY 18TH JULY AT 7.30PM

This is a fund-raising concert organised by young people to help their friend who is about to go to University in London. Tickets: £5 adults, £3 concessions. Please take a leaflet and sign the list for your ticket, or see Gillian or Ned Smith.


WELCOMING IN CHURCH

The welcome ministry in this church has always been excellent and a review has now taken place. The current team works hard to give extra time as well as doing their own time slots. We are in need of new volunteers who would be able to help to keep the building open. If you can offer some time please speak with Rachel, Hilary or Gillian.
