SEVEN DAY CANDLE – ETERNAL LIGHT

We are looking for people to sponsor this candle in the Holdsworth Chapel in memory of a loved one at a price of £3 for one week. If you are interested in doing this please speak to Gillian (355436) or click here to email.

 

CAR PARKING OUTSIDE CHURCH

Anybody parking outside the main gates must have a disabled badge clearly visible. Please read the parking notices on Dispensary Walk – it is Permit Holders only on Sundays and evenings. The wardens are out giving parking tickets on Sundays!

Please note: When parking in front of the gates please leave the centre part clear for the Emergency Services to gain access to the church if necessary. Thank you.

 

EXPERIMENTAL PERIOD

At its last meeting the Church Council agreed to a six month experimentation period with new arrangements surrounding the Nave Altar, principally to bring the choir into the Nave, when the Nave altar is being used.

 

FOOD PARCEL SUPPORT PROJECT – VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Can you help?

A number of Christian Groups in the town are working together to establish a drop-in point for food and support. This will be based at the YMCA and support people/groups in the town. If you would like more information or want to register as a volunteer then come along to a meeting on Thursday 4th September at 7.30pm at the Fairtrade Café, Crossley Street. Please see the poster at the back of church and/or ask Rachel.

MIDDAY PRAYERS

For an experimental period of time we are going to take the Midday Prayers in the under-used Wellington Chapel.

 

VISION TEAM MEETING

There is to be a meeting for the co-ordinators and Standing Committee/Leadership Team on Tuesday 2nd September at 8.00pm at the Vicarage.

 

CHURCHES TOGETHER CHOIR

Would you like to be part of a “Churches Together Choir” to sing at the Piece Hall on September 13th as part of the Hope Calderdale “Festival Piece Hall”? The event will run between 10am and 5pm. There will be bands and children’s activities, puppets, testimonies, stalls and displays. The choir will sing for 35 – 40 minutes at the height of the proceedings probably between 1pm and 2.30pm. The music will be part Christian and part contemporary.

There will be 3 rehearsals in the 3 weeks preceding the event, one of which will be a “dress rehearsal” with the band. These will take place on Wed 27th August, Wed 3rd Sept and Friday 12th Sept. Venues will be announced shortly.

THE GOODALL TRUST

Applications for a grant from the Goodall Trust are now invited. This trust is for the benefit of widows, ladies living alone or with children or carer or spinsters on low incomes, who are resident in the present Calderdale ward of Skircoat and/or in such parts of the parishes of St Jude and All Saints, Halifax.
