details see the website (www.themothersunion.org.) or see Margaret Stears or
Janet Hardy for an application form. A note from our Chief Executive, Reg Bailey about MU donations------ Dear Friends I have been contacted about the Panorama “Addicted to Aid” programme on Monday
24th November 2008 on international aid and the misuse of funds. The
emphasis of the programme was how governments and individuals involved in
programmes were able to siphon off funds very easily and that money did not
reach the communities for which it was intended. However, Mothers’ Union does have a really good story to tell. By our
very nature and organisation, we ensure that money does not go anywhere near
government or individuals who can subvert the use of our funding programme.
Rather it goes right to the heart of the most marginalised communities where
our support can make a real difference. All of the money we send around the
world is sent to Mothers’ Union designated accounts that are operated by our
members, and the Headquarters team ensure that money is properly accounted for
and used effectively. We do make the very best use of every single penny. With warm regards. Reg There has
