Adjacent to the church is the
Eureka
children's science museum. This is an award winning
"hands on" museum which draws many visitors and is well
worth a visit.
The Jungle Experience
Manor Heath Park and Gardens offers visitors a unique
opportunity within Calderdale to encounter a tropical oasis packed
with exotic plants of both ornamental and commercial value,
including grapefruit, cocoa, coffee and more. Also on the site is
a spacious park, sunken garden, a constantly developed
demonstration garden and more glass houses.
Manor Heath is on the edge of Savile Park close to Halifax town
centre.
Shibden Hall and Park
Just a mile or so from Halifax centre is the Elizabethan Hall
at Shibden. The house is open to the public and is set in

The Piece Hall
The Piece Hall is a unique historic monument of 315 rooms on
three floors forming a giant quadrangle. In this 18th
century building the many merchants would sell their
"pieces" of cloth.
The building now houses many craft and specialist shops, together
with the Tourist Information Centre and one of Halifax's many Art
Galleries.

The Industrial Museum
Adjoining the Piece Hall is the Industrial Museum telling of
Halifax's industrial past. Several working steam engines add to
the experience. The museum is only open by arrangement.

Dean Clough
Dean Clough is a centre for the arts, design, education and
business housed in a magnificent complex of 19th
century mills. It is home to the Dean Clough Galleries, eight
exhibition spaces committed to showing contemporary art and
design; The Henry Moore Studio, The Viaduct Theatre, and theatre
companies, including the award winning IOU and Northern
Broadsides, artists' studios, workshops, The Design Shop and the
acclaimed Design House restaurant, Cafe Bar and Delicatessen.

Bankfield Museum
Housing collections of costumes, textiles, military history and
decorative art, this museum has the added attraction that
admission is free! Bankfield also has an Art Gallery and a
programme of workshops through the season.
