Pastoral Group The Pastoral Group is
a group of volunteers who are happy to do some visiting. One of them will come
to visit you at home by request. The Pastoral visit helps to maintain a regular
link with the church when you are not able to get out, to provide support if you
are sick or a listening ear if that is something you need. Please contact Susan
King or Peggy Firth if you would like a visitor to come to you or you know
someone who is unable to get to church but would like a visit.
Welcomers
Halifax Parish Church is now open every day from 9am to 4pm, to allow visitors to view the interior of the building, or simply to find a quiet place for prayer and reflection. This is achieved by a very committed team of volunteer 'Welcomers' who staff the church in shifts of two hours. The former Vicar, Wendy Wilby wrote 'People find a peaceful oasis here, in which to pray and reflect. We do need more volunteers to work in pairs as part of this important ministry'. Anyone who can spare a couple of hours per week, fortnight or month, to enable others to enjoy this magnificent medieaval church should contact Gillian on 01422 355436.
