Pastoral Group The Pastoral Group is a group of volunteers who are happy to do some visiting. One of them will come to visit you at home by request. The Pastoral visit helps to maintain a regular link with the church when you are not able to get out, to provide support if you are sick or a listening ear if that is something you need. Please contact Susan King or Peggy Firth if you would like a visitor to come to you or you know someone who is unable to get to church but would like a visit.

Welcomers Halifax Parish Church is now open every day from 9am to 4pm, to allow visitors to view the interior of the building, or simply to find a quiet place for prayer and reflection. This is achieved by a very committed team of volunteer 'Welcomers' who staff the church in shifts of two hours. The former Vicar, Wendy Wilby wrote 'People find a peaceful oasis here, in which to pray and reflect. We do need more volunteers to work in pairs as part of this important ministry'. Anyone who can spare a couple of hours per week, fortnight or month, to enable others to enjoy this magnificent medieaval church should contact Gillian on 01422 355436.
Baptism TeamSome of the parents who bring their children for baptism are not regular members of the congregation. We want them to feel welcome and comfortable when they come to church without being overpowered. Our Baptism Team, in accordance with our policy, assists in rehearsals and services, befriend the children and their families and subtly follow up the baptism service in the following years.
