Formed in 1930, the Society of friends of Halifax Parish Church was created with the following aims:
Some Benefits of Membership.Members are invited to the annual Friends' Festival in September which includes the main Sunday morning service at the Parish Church, followed by lunch and the annual general meeting. Apart from attendance at services when members will always be most welcome the Parish Church, guides who offer a spirit of welcome to the many visitors who come to the Church will also very happily receive them. Guides are always pleased to talk about the history of the Parish Church and how it blends in with its daily worship. Nearly 900 Years of Worship.Halifax Parish Church is one of the few links with the gentler past of this industrial town: it is an historic heritage of which any town might well be proud. Through the centuries, the Church has been and remains a focus of prayer and worship, a place of inspiration and witness to the Christian faith in word and Sacrament. It continues today as a living house of prayer for the people of Halifax. The Parish Church relies on its Friends. The Friends exist for all who care for this heritage, and even if you are unable to take part in its activities your membership will be a strength and encouragement. If you would like to join the Friends, now is the time. E mail us at Friends Information for details on how to join.
